About the Owner

Daniel Zhang, founder of Boba Birds, is a Bay Area native with a deep appreciation for food, culture, and community. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant flavors of Asian street food, Daniel was inspired to bring something new to his hometown—a space that combined the fun, refreshing experience of boba tea with the bold comfort of crispy fried chicken.

With a background in hospitality and years of experience in the food and beverage industry, Daniel’s vision for Boba Birds was clear: create a place that feels welcoming, exciting, and unforgettable. Drawing influence from his travels across Asia—particularly Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan—Daniel set out to build a brand that reflects modern tastes while honoring classic flavors.

At Boba Birds, Daniel is hands-on in everything from the menu design to the customer experience, ensuring that every drink and bite meets his high standards. His mission is simple: serve up flavor-packed food and drinks in a space that locals can call their own.

This place is so good. It's so nice and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It's very clean and the service is great. The workers are very welcome and super friendly. The food; the fries and the wings are soo good. The wings I absolutely enjoy, the drinks are so good too. You can always adjust the sweetness level if it's too sweet. The lemonade is SUPER refreshing. The boba is SOO good, the tapioca pearls are super chewy and soft.

Enjoying a Taro, Mango, and Strawberry Bobba is always our go-to for a Friday treat. We love coming here to visit the owners. They are super friendly and always take care of us. The own and operate themselves. Come support your locals!

Fantastic boba place in Pinole! We got the Fruit Punch and Strawberry Lemonade bobas, both were amazing! They also had cooked-to-order wings which we will definitely have to try next time! The staff was great, super friendly and welcoming. We came on a Monday afternoon so it wasn't very busy. The inside was clean and pretty spacious with a few tables and chairs. Definitely recommend!
